Capco® introduces the latest version
of its
Open Architecture Control, the ABSOLUTE all digital Capco®
OAC 11.0
web-based internet connected CNC control
|
With this development, Capco®
has moved far into the twenty-first century. The ABSOLUTE all digital Capco®
OAC 11.0 CNC control makes the ominous "black box"
history. The control is open to the end user and the control components are
off-the-shelf commercial items. The formerly necessary constant calibration of
analog control components is eliminated.
The communication between the CNC and the axes drives is done via the SERCOS
interface, which is a very fast and reliable fiberoptic noise-immune interface. The
SERCOS interface and the speed of the CNC allow the grinding system to be finely tuned for
highly accurate and productive roll grinding. The Capco®
OAC 11.0 provides improved diagnostics of the grinding system
and opens new possibilities for diagnostic customization.
The HMI (operator interface) is via a Pentium PC with a Windows NT 4.0
operating system that offers tremendous versatility and allows for flexible customization
of the HMI.
The Capco® OAC
11.0 is a web-based internet-connected control that brings
e-Manufacturing to roll shops. This opens a new world of possibilities in
maintenance, upgrades, integration of the automatic Capco®
SuperRSCS roll shop computer system and communication with the company's MES to all
levels.

Capco® Roll Metrology System
for the Capco SuperGrinder Model TT |
| Specially designed for the Capco®
SuperGrinders Model TT. The measuring probes are digital, calibration-free,
high accuracy measuring units with a resolution of 0.1 µm (0.000004"). The
measuring device utilizes linear motors with an accuracy of 0.1 µm (0.000004").
The probes are arranged in a way not to be obstructed by the workrests and allow
measuring during grinding. The design of the
RMS is integrated into the Capco® Model TT
SuperGrinder, keeping the center of gravity of the grinding system as low as
possible. It is integrated into the powerful ABSOLUTE all digital Capco®
OAC 11.0 web-based CNC control of the machine. It provides a
very fast, accurate and reliable automatic roll measuring system to check absolute
diameter, taper, shape and roundness.

The Capco® fully automatic workrests
for the Capco® SuperGrinder Model TT |
| Using the latest available technologies and the capabilities
of the most powerful ABSOLUTE all digital Capco® web-based OAC
11.0 Control, these steadies perform with the highest accuracy
and repeatability. The Capco® automatic work rests for the Capco®
SuperGrinder Model TT are equipped with digital AC servomotors and a superprecision
infeed system, with a positioning accuracy of 0.1 µm (0.000004"). The
positioning and the adjustment of the jaws is done by a fully automatic "find
roll" program, with no return to zero position required for repositioning or
adjusting. The repeatability is better than 0.1 µm (0.000004"). The
Capco® automatic work rests are fully integrated in the
automatic grinding program with possibility of manual override "on-the-fly".
The Capco® automatic work rests
are an investment that improves quality, productivity and return of investment in your
roll shop.
